IHI Open School

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) provides education to students interested in the health care areas of patient safety, quality improvement, and leadership. It provides students with access to the "Open School," a network of online resources that brings students together from multiple professions to improve the quality and safety of care provided to patients.

Mission Statement

ihiosThe IHI Open School is an interprofessional educational community that gives students the skills to become agents for change in healthcare improvement. The objectives of the organization are: to generate local awareness and excitement among the next generations and to advance quality improvement and patient safety.

Why should I join this Chapter?

Learn: We provide specialized information about patient safety and quality improvement that you may not learn in school. Check out the monthly "On Call" audio conference series, expert video interviews, our blog, and monthly Chapter activities!

Connect: Face-to-face Chapter activities will bring students from all health professions together to discuss quality and patient safety issues, work through interactive activities, and host guest speakers

Influence: Contribute new IHI Open School materials and provide us with feedback

Practice: Put your knowledge to work and participate in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives at health care organizations in your area

Publish: Submit work to the IHI website to share with others
